ooc: Okay so I have been neglecting this poor thing for so long. I am really sorry that it took me so long to get this up and going. I will try and be more punctual in my posting. Gomen ne, arigatou. Also a quick view, this is a new setting I suppose you can say that I was experimenting just a bit and came up with this idea (strange as it may seem). Anyways, I hope that you all like it, as again I am really, really sorry for the late date.

Hatori Sohma sat in the dim light of his office. Outside, the sound of a steady rainfall could be heard. The storm had begun around noon and had now carried into the later evening. Slowly picking up pace from a light sprinkle into the now steady fall that which was heard rapping on the windows of the hospital. Creating a deafening tone captured within an oddly rhythmical account. He had counted the clock to strike the hour mark about ten times now, which meant that it had to be around five or five thirty that evening. Suki had entered several times today checking up on things and asking if there was anything that needed to be done. As the papers on his desk continued to increase in considerable amounts. Autopsies, current surgical sessions and medical perscriptions. The paperwork seemed endless, and he knew that he would more than likely be staying late making the attempts to achieve as much completion of the excessive documents and journal entries; all recollections in recount of the events today and as of yesterday. There was still so much that needed to be done before he could leave. He couldn't risk falling behind any further. Albeit, his thoughts at the current moment were anywhere but focused on his work.
Usually he did not fall behind in existing matters at hand, but there was a strange, almost ominous feeling that cascaded down through his mind. Creating a troubled session in his thoughts. Pausing in the reading of a current entry to the hospital. (A boy the age of sixteen, infected with an illness that didn't seem to have a direct cure). He looked up and glanced towards his window with his unnatural dark green gaze, simply hearing though only the consistent fall of the rain outside. The office was considerably quiet, a good set-up and yet even with the near silence of the room he still couldn't seem to keep on task. The pencil remained braced on the documentary of the boy's administration. Sixteen years, that was around the same age of Kyo and Yuki. Strange that he was thinking back to his family at a time such as this, albeit he hadn't spoken lately to any member of the Sohma household. His work kept him from such, and he honestly and truly didn't have time to keep up. Though, he did await for his call to return home and tend to one of the other members of the family. As he was still the family doctor atop his position at the hospital.
He thought for a moment of Akito-sama and the condition that he had left the dark-haired Sohma in. There had been no news of calls yet in reference to the household, or if Akito had made any further or sudden appearances that pointed at a immediate requirement of his own abilities. And yet still there was that dark memoir plaguing him constantly. His hand quiver slightly against the pencil on paper. Perhaps things weren't as they appeared, but if there was no reason for anyone to call then perhaps things were going well. He dismissed the abrupt cogitation, and slowly turned from the window and returned to his work.
He heard the phone ring outside his office and then heard Suki's voice answering. Another pause, and then a knock at his door. "Come in," he said without so much as glancing up for even a fleeting trice. The door opened gradually stopping once there was just enough room for Suki to poke her head through, as once she saw that it did indeed seem to be all right, she pushed the door open just a bit more. "I'm sorry, sir, but there is a Shigure Sohma on the phone for you. Would you like to take the call, or should I take a message?" Filling out the signature line for an addition to a patience medication; Hatori set the pen down, and then glanced up. He heard Shigure's anxious voice at the other end of the phone and then heard Suki say, "He says that it is important. Something in relation to the family?"
Another pause and the slight tensing up in his shoulders, as he once more turned to the window. Akito-sama..thought the elder Sohma to himself a reflection of slight regret echoed in his vague self-council. "Sir?" said Suki, holding the phone in her hand. "Would you rather I just take a message then?" Again he heard Shigure arguing with the sudden speculation made by the secretary. Hatori stood up, hands bracing on his desk as if in a slight support. "No, it's fine. I'll take the call." Suki nodded. "Alright," and then said to Shigure, "I'm transferring you now.." The phone seated on the desk suddenly began to ring and Hatori picked it up.
"Hello?"
A few moments passed as a converstation was exchanged. Hatori's eyes narrowed. "How is he now? Did anyone recieve any form of injury?" A nod. "All right. I'll head over as soon as I close things up here. I'll be there as soon as I can." There was a click and then the conversation ended, and Hatori set the phone back in the cradle and then began to pick up his papers and things. Placing them in his brief case, and then hung up his white lab-coat, exchanging it for a dark brown trenchcoat. He left a message with Suki stating that he needed to tend to an emergency at home, and could be expected to be gone for at least a week, possibly longer depending on the complete state of the emergency.
Exiting the hospital, after heading down several flights of steps due to the fact that his office was located on the third floor. The receptionists at the desks all nodded as the forest eyed doctor left. The doors swinging shut behind him, obviously he was in a rush. Perhaps an important acciden that required a physcian to be present at the scene. The speculations of maybe family based issues were far from the recesses and accesses of their minds. However, they did trade curious looks between themselves, neither though said much of anything. Or else if they did, he was too far gone to have heard them.
Calling for one the yellow taxis that were randomly moving about the town, he let himself slip into the back seat. Only giving directions to Yuki and Kyo's school. Refusing to disclose the address for Sohma Central. The ride lasted for about fifteen or twenty minutes, before the driver pulled the vehicle up to the high school. Quietly and lithely, Hatori slid out the door, politely thanking the motorist for his help. Paying the man, he awaited for the taxi to be fully out of sight. Watching it closely through the torrential rain, the small yellow vehicle rounded the corner and headed back towards the hospital. Returning to the much more busier parts of the town. The rain was falling heavily down upon him, and for a moment he paused and glanced up through the water, letting it come rushing down against his face, slipping from the edges. His hair slowly being dampened and beginning to frame itself to the sides of his face like dark digits that splayed themselves out across his pale features.
A few more moments passed, in which there was a distant crash of thunder and a quick flash of lightning. As then he began to leave the school grounds heading towards the Central. Knowing that it would still probably be another twelve or so minutes before he was there. The rain did however seem to finally be lightening up, but it was only a fleeting reverie. Before again the skies turned darkish grey once more, and the rain continued to fall.
